It has been far too long since I’ve posted.  Not for lack of content….just lack of time…..However, when life-changing occurrences come to pass, I must stop this ride called life and yell the news for all to hear.  A red-headed baby boy was exactly what my family needed, and received on November 26th.  Thanks to my brother, Jon, and his wife (even though we are daily thought to be sisters), Casey, we have absolute and positive perfection in this tiny life named Jack Grey.  Jon Greer, the Big Brother at 3, is oh so smitten with his baby brother.  It is a sweet sight to behold.  It’s only been a short time since we rocked and cuddled Greer, but the fond aroma of baby breath and skin has put its spell on me once again.  Just look at those toes and hair…..oh my…..I love.  and, just for the record, he has my lips  :)

Whitney Rebecca has been a part of my life since ….well, forever.  Her mom, Tiffany, (I call her T) is my lifelong best friend.  Whitney is the absolute mirror image of her mom at 18 (with a sprinkling of freckles).  Sweet, sweet, sweet…..I’m not sure  where that came from Phil?  I took the first portraits of Whitney’s life, so I feel so honored to capture this milestone for her as well.  Whit, baby girl, I love you more than you will ever know.  There is no doubt in my mind, you will succeed in everything you choose.

One of the first mornings we have been blessed with that nip of Autumn in the air was spent rejoicing the blessing of Grant being home from the War. What a beautiful morning and an even more beautiful family.  We took tons of shots, and I had a tremendously difficult time deciding WHICH ones to blog, and only chose a FEW from MANY.  This family is beyond blessed with beauty, intelligence and grace.  I am lucky, and I love them all.  Enjoy.

I have blogged about my children in the past.  For some reason lately, I have really thought of what they truly mean to me.  Taylor is 15.  He astounds me by how much of a man he is becoming on a daily basis. I think the part of him that I love most is …. Taylor TRULY loves his Mama  :)  and that makes me smile. If I am lucky, I will have him for 4 more years under my roof.  In the grand scheme of things, that is not long.  It scares me.  The world scares me.  My not being RIGHT THERE to make sure all is okay….it seriously scares me.  I believe with all my heart I have taught my children right from wrong.  I have passed on the moral values my wonderful parents instilled in me.  That part of the process gives me a sense of peace; however (and that’s a BIG however) what about every one else.  I believe God only allows us to borrow these beautiful babies to raise in his ways.  They ultimately belong to Him.  Thank you God for my babies.  You have truly blessed me. Taylor, my baby boy, you are MY blessing.

Mallie Anne (as I have always called her) is my baby girl.  She is a beautiful on the inside and out.  She makes me proud every day.  You must be tired of seeing her on the blog, as I shoot her (it seems) incessantly.  She is one of my favorite subjects. I see SO much of myself in her ways. Honestly….it amazes me and scares me silly.  My mom always told me you receive payback from your children for YOUR misdeeds as a child/teen.   Mallie  is 13..WoooHoooo….Let the GAMES begin, and God give me strength and patience…I plan on having her under my roof for AT LEAST six more years.  She (like myself) is a force to be reckoned with….(isn’t the first step admitting it?)  She is head strong, intelligent, outspoken and beautiful. I beg and pray that she uses her talents to always work hard and diligently to be the best at everything she wants to achieve.  Mallie Anne, you are my sunshine.

Last Wednesday I had the honor of taking portraits of one of my favorite families.  A couple of weeks ago, Holland had me shoot a couple of headshots for Asher’s 1st birthday invitation.  I was SO excited to get the chance to take portraits of them all.  Holland said they had not had a family portrait made since Asher was born!?!?!?!  These babies are precious and I was in Heaven!  By the way, if you are looking for a birthday cake or ANY cake for ANY occasion, Holland is your girl!  Her talents are phenomenal, and her cakes are fabulous!  I love you guys!!!
